Effective March 13, 2024, the salary threshold for certain exemptions under Article 6 of the New York Labor Law (NYLL) will increase from $900 to $1,300 per week.  Article 6 regulates the method and frequency of wage payments to employees in the State.  A bona fide executive, administrative, or professional employee who is paid in excess of $1,300 per week will be excluded from the category of \u201cclerical and other worker\u201d and will no longer be afforded certain wage protections under Article 6.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This modified salary threshold for the wage protections is separate and distinct from those pertaining to minimum wage and overtime exemptions under the NYLL, which remain at their current levels, i.e., $1,125 per week in New York City and other NY localities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
