DHS Announces Flexibility in Form I-9 Compliance
As of 4/1/2021, the requirement that employers must physically inspect an employee’s form I-9 supporting documents will only apply to employees who are expected to to work at a company location on a predictable basis. Although the DHS will evaluate the situation on a case by case basis, employees who are hired to work from home on a full-time basis are temporarily exempt from this physical inspection requirement.
