California Expands Paid Sick Leave Requirements
California has recently amended the Healthy Workplaces Healthy Families Act of 2014. Effective January 1, 2024, California employers must comply with the increased paid sick leave entitlements, most importantly increasing the number of paid sick leave days from 24 hours per year to 40 hours, as well as changes to usage restrictions.
